This year’s Kite & Key honorees are Robert Boteler, director of marketing, industrial solutions motors at Emerson Motor Co.; Donald Mader, senior vice president at Underwriters Laboratories （UL）; and Everett Scherrer, Rea Magnet WireCo.’s vice president of technical services. The Award recognizes individuals who have advanced the interest of the electrical industry through active and sustained involvement in NEMA activities. The three winners have contributed considerable time and expertise to NEMA and the electrical industry. The Kite & Key honorees will be recognized at NEMA’s annual meeting。 "These individuals are masters of the industry, and can be counted on when you need someone to chair an important committee, to take on a difficult industry assignment, or to provide an experienced and accurate perspective on a complex industry problem," said NEMA Chairman John Estey. Boteler has been a champion on energy efficiency for his industry, and has served as the chairman of the Motor Industry Promotion Committee. He is the industry brainchild behind NEMA Premium®, which was first established for premium-efficiency motors. Mader has worked with NEMA for a quarter-century on a variety of activities ranging from Conformity assessment to UL follow-up services. He has committed attention and energy toward everything from the NEMA/UL Policy Committee to day-to-day issues involving specific NEMA product sections. Scherrer has been an active participant in the NEMA Magnet Wire Section for more than 30 years. During this time, he has volunteered to serve in a number of leadership capacities for the industry, including serving as past chairman of the Magnet Wire Section Technical Committee. Scherrer has been an active member of this influential industry group for decades, consistently providing valuable technical expertise toward development and maintenance of NEMA MW 1000, Magnet Wire, the premiere magnet wire standard recognized and used throughout the world.
